The Water of Life Film

The Water of Life is a fantastic documentary that focuses on the people who turned the stagnant whisky industry of the 1980’s into the force that we see today around the world. Greg Swartz, the Director of The Water of Life, joins Rascal + Thorn to collaborate once again for a special “longer” weekend that includes distillery visits, great tastings, the premiere of his new Docu-Series on Independent Bottlers and the Glasgow Whisky Festival!!

Greg will be joined by Charles Grabitzky, our Rascal + Thorn co-owner, trip leader and whisky expert! Charles has led over 20 whisky tours around the world and cannot wait to join the group for this really fun time in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Whisky Experiences

This 4-night tour is filled with special distillery visits and experiences!

We start with Distillery Visits to Glenturret, Rosebank and the Clydeside. This will be followed by curated tastings in the evenings with Independent Bottlers that lead up to the Premiere release of Greg’s new Docu-Series focused on the bottlers that we will be meeting!

And to top it all off, we will take part in Glasgow’s Whisky Festival on Saturday, November 9th. A full weekend of special events and experiences.

Glasgow

This tour will be based in Glasgow for its entirety, so no packing up and moving along. We love Glasgow for its Scottish charm, but the food and whisky scene is something really special. This trip will include meals at Lalique, the Michelin restaurant at the Glenturret Distillery, along with many in Glasgow.

Each evening will include dining and dramming at various venues, and will be curated to make for a very special 4 nights. We end the tour with the Glasgow Whisky Festival, where we can sample from many great distilleries and bottlers, and taste expressions that are not found anyplace else.

Our @rascalandthorn Water of Life Collaboration Tour continued to Glenglassaugh Distillery. Such great hospitality by Stewart Buchanan, Global Brand Ambassador. A visit to the Sandend Beach, full Distillery Tour and a fabulous tasting and feast to end with. What a great afternoon! The Sandend tasted like the beach!

We started our 2nd @rascalandthorn Collaboration Whisky Tour with @wateroflifefilm with a visitor to Tormore Distillery in the Speyside Region of Scotland. It was really an incredible visit to the distillery with one of their Senior Distillery Managers, George, who took us through everything in detail. Then off to barrel making, hands on, and a trip to the water source for more drams! And to sample from the spring. A great way to kick off our 2nd Tour with @weedrambigman.
