This October, Rascal+Thorn is thrilled to offer a unique, one-day visit to Blue Hill at Stone Barns, currently listed as No. 12 in the world by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List.

This opportunity is so much more than just a visit to the restaurant. At Rascal + Thorn, we pride ourselves on our ability to go above and beyond by providing gastronomic experiences of unusual depth not typically otherwise available to the general public. Here, we will experience the game-changing, field-to-table cuisine of Chef Dan Barber. Chef Barber is the recipient of the coveted Chef’s Choice Award as voted on by his peers at the 2018 World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards. We will enjoy his innovative cuisine in Blue Hill at Stone Barn’s luxuriously intimate private dining room, which overlooks the beautiful herb garden.

Farm Tour

We will arrive the morning of Sunday, October 7, for a tour of the innovative Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. Most of what we will dine upon later in our day was not just grown or raised on the farm, but specially developed there using age-old selection techniques.

On our guided tour, we will have the opportunity to learn in great detail what makes the food from Stone Barns so special and unique to not only New York state, but the food world as well.

Champagne Tutorial

This particular visit is designed with wine lovers in mind. After our Farm Tour, we will convene in the restaurant’s wine cellar. Head Sommelier Hannah Williams will provide a Champagne Tutorial, leading us through a tasting of a variety of Champagne styles and growers, wetting our whistles for the meal to come. In addition, she will provide a special, optional pairing for the meal that should not be missed. However, for those who are designated drivers or who prefer not to partake in wine, non-alcoholic drinks are available as well.

After our Champagne experience, we will re-convene in the private dining room overlooking the herb garden, ready to experience the ultimate in field-to-table fine dining.
