Culinary Visits
Come with us to Montreal, a little taste of Francophone Europe right here in North America! We will be guided by one of the city’s pre-eminent chefs, Stelio Perombelon. Chef Perombelon will give us his insider’s perspective on Montreal’s current, very international food scene, while also delving into its Canadian and Quebecois heritage.
Chef Stelio Perombelon is recently retired from restaurant kitchens (he has helmed many of the finest in the city), including the legendary Les Chevres. He and Pastry Chef extraordinaire, Patrice Demers, started and operated one of the first, and still one of the finest ever, vegetable-forward fine dining restaurants in the world.
Unique Excursions
Chef Perombelon will take us on a shopping tour through one of Montreal’s fabulous food markets, the Jean Talon Market. Here we will purchase outstanding Quebec produce with which to take to his professional teaching kitchen for a workshop and lunch!
Late September is the perfect time to explore Montreal’s markets as they are jammed with stupendous vegetable, animal and seafood products at the height of the harvest. This is a unique opportunity to see Montreal through the eyes of a chef and then get to take part in the cooking of a wonderful meal!
Pastry Workshop
Another highlight will be a pastry demo from Canada’s premiere Pastry Chef, Patrice Demers, who enjoys his own TV cooking show in Canada. Despite his boyish good looks and charm, Chef Demers has been producing beautiful, and delicious creative pastry for nearly two decades. This will be a very special treat indeed.
This is just part of the many special visits, both cultural and culinary, that we will enjoy during our four-night visit to Montreal.
