Vibrant Cities & Food

If Mexico City is the heart of Mexico, Oaxaca is its soul. Join us next February as we uncover the heart and soul of Mexico. We will dive headlong into Oaxaca and Mexico City’s incredible traditional and fine dining foods, magical Mezcal, elegant cocktails, amazing arts and crafts, and fascinating history.

We will eat the best food that the region has to offer, from humble but delicious market fare to its vibrant contemporary Mexican fine dining scene. We will tour markets with local experts. There is so much to discover with flavor in Mexico, and we will do our best to explore it all.

Mezcal and Cocktails

There is nothing quite like Mezcal produced anywhere else in the world. Made in the traditional way for hundreds of years, to sip on Mezcal is to drink in history. We will sample a wide variety of styles and producers, visit a working palenque and learn how to use Mezcal in making our own cocktails.

In Mexico City, we will explore the vibrant cocktail scene and visit some of the best bars the city has to offer. Along with the dining scene in Mexico City, the cocktail scene holds its own reputation of being one of the best in Latin America and the world.

Art & Excursions

Oaxacan art is famous world-wide and with good reason. We will visit museums, artisans and famous, one-of-a-kind markets as we learn about the intricacies of the many collectible styles present here. We will visit some of the area’s most notable sites, archaeological and living, to give them context.

In Mexico City we will also visit amazing markets and go on a Taco Tour. And how about a visit to Teotihuacan, one of the most amazing archeological sites in all of Mexico. There are so many different excursions to enjoy.

As always, once you join a Rascal + Thorn Tour, we provide three meals (sometimes more), local transportation once the tour starts, alcoholic and other beverages as indicated, lodging and excursions. Not included would be transportation to and from the tour, personal transportation needs that are not part of the tour itinerary and any food or beverages above what is supplied, should you for some reason desire more.
