It doesn’t get much better than this! We will be joined by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s USA Director, Tom Smith. We have known Tom for a long time now as an incredible voice for the Society here in the US and what better way to explore Scotland than to be with him!

The other two leaders include myself, Charles Grabitzky, co-owner of Rascal + Thorn and First Fill Spirits, now in my 10th year of leading whisky tours around the world. And Holly Seidewand, one of the leading experts on Scotch whisky in the United States. She currently is co-owner of First Fill Spirits in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Edinburgh & Leith

This tour starts and ends in Edinburgh, the home to the SMWS. While there we will have some special events planned for members including a Guided Whisky Tasting and Dinner with world-renowned expert Charlie MacLean. We will also enjoy a Whisky-Paired Dinner with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society Founder Pip Hills.

How about a Liquid History of Leith Walking Tour and a Farewell Dinner in the Vaults? We have that covered too!

Speyside Distillery Visits

Scotland is whisky heaven, but to really uncover the secrets, we need to visit distilleries and meet the people making the whisky! On this trip we will spend 5 nights in the Speyside Region to visit some of our favorite distilleries including, but not limited to, Glenfarclas, Glendronach, Benriach, Balvenie, Aberlour, Tomatin, and many others. We will fit as much whisky production into 5 days, and make it special at the same time.

We will also have some great meals in the region and fantastic tasting opportunities.

Itinerary

Saturday, October 5 – Arrive in Edinburgh for a 2-night stay.  Guided Whisky Tasting and Dinner with world-renowned expert Charlie MacLean.

Sunday, October 6 – After breakfast at the hotel, we have a free morning. Afternoon Liquid History of Leith Walking Tour followed by a Whisky-Pairing Dinner with Scotch Malt Whisky Society Founder Pip Hills.

Monday, October 7 to Saturday, October 12 – We head to the Speyside Region for a 5-night stay in Aberlour. While in the Speyside Region, we will visit many distilleries for tour and tasting experiences. We will also have some special meals.

Saturday, October 12 – We return to Edinburgh for our last night. Free time in the afternoon. Farewell dinner at The Vaults in Leith.

Sunday, October 13 – Departure from Edinburgh back to the US.
